I haven’t used the Millermatic 211 MIG Welder in a long time. The last few days ago I started welding together new Solar Charging Station Frames to replace the wooden weather-worn ones I had made a couple of years ago. I created Solar Charging Stations and placed them around the Amphitheater to power time lapse cameras and work lights.
I used SketchUp 2019 to design the replacements, using 1″ steel tube, 1-1/2″ angle steels and 2″ flat steel. I’ll use 2″ muffler clamps to mount some of the stations onto 2″ diameter poles.
My welding and assembly got better with practice.

I got the rotation done on my rotating power tool storage cart. It hold my Kreg Foreman Pocket Hole Machine, my Oscillating Spindle Sander and my Ridgid Thickness Planer.
I also added removable work top extensions on each side of power tool in use.

Some items to finish on my rotating power tool storage cart are:

  • Leveling feet,
  • Trim a 1/4-1/2″ from the bottom of the cart to gain some clearance when in transport mode,
  • Cord management,
  • And storage inside the cart.

I also did a trash run before leaving for the day.

The crew at the Amphitheater completed all the Type II Barricades they could with the pieces they had. I cut some additional slats and handles for the start of Monday.
Today I had set the goal of removing the drift boat from the ceiling and moving it over to temporary storage. I don’t think that will have today.
I moved a step closer toward completing the Rotating Power Tool Stand. I cut out the side supports for the rotating drum with the X-Carve CNC Router.
I captured this time lapse of the cutting job on the X-Carve CNC Router using a Wyze Security Camera I have mounted above the router.
